| Born in New York
City, Toni began writing at an early age, and reading even earlier.
“As a child I would rework the endings of stories when they
did not suit me.” As a child she enjoyed series books, Nancy
Drew and Judy Bolton in particular, and at 12 she rewrote several
fairy tales, making a book, 12 Tall Tales. Fast forward to 1995,
when
she joined the staff of a pulp magazine, SUSABELLA PASSENGERS
AND FRIENDS, as a feature reporter, winning their Margaret Sutton
Award for Distinguished Reporting in 1998. She has written over
200 articles for this magazine in the space of 10 years. In 1997,
she began reworking several ideas for novels and in 2000 had two
of them e-published. Another novel, A SPY IN THE HAND, debuted
to great reviews in November 2004.
Toni lists her favorite authors
as Stephen King, John Saul, Mary Higgens Clark, Rita Mae Brown,
Lawrence Block, and Sidney Sheldon. Her favorite novel of all
time? Gone with the Wind, adding she can relate to the independent
character of Scarlett O’Hara. She lives in Clifton, New
Jersey, with her three “babies” Misty, Trixie and
Phyllis, and, while still employed full-time, is working not only
on two more novels, but on adapting some of her prose to the big
screen.
