Christine DeSmet is an award-winning
writer of novels and feature film screenplays, and teaches fiction
and screenwriting at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her romantic
suspense, Spirit Lake, a finalist under another title in Romance
Writers of America’s “Golden Heart” and “Golden
Pen” contests, is published by Hard Shell Word Factory.
Three Seas Literary Agency is marketing another romantic suspense
novel and a new mystery series set in fictional Jump Creek, Wyoming.
Christine is a member of Writers Guild of America, East. With
a scriptwriting partner she’s optioned feature film screenplays
and a TV series, and was a past winner of the Slamdance Film Festival
contest. Recent film projects include the adaptation of a book
of short stories by a Madison, Wisconsin, author. Born in Moline,
Illinois, Christine was raised on a farm near Barneveld, Wisconsin,
and now lives in Madison.
